4. BIBLE QUESTIONS - 20 POINTS
Be ready to discuss:
A. We have been learning how Jesus is our Good Shepherd. He gave His life for us. Our responsibility is to listen to His voice and follow Him. There are many people that claim to know God but when we look at the fruit of their life, their actions say they do not know God. In Matthew 7 we see Jesus talk about this kind of person. Take a moment and think about what are some signs that show someone is a fake Christian. In Matthew 7 we see the importance of developing a deep and close relationship with Jesus. This type of love for Jesus will be evident to friends and family. This type of love for Jesus will not be coming from legalistic duty. This type of love for the Good Shepherd will come naturally and from a relationship. Think about what it would look like if someone REALLY loved Jesus. If you had a friend that really loved Jesus, list 5 ways you would know they had a deep and close relationship with God.
Answer: One of my former co-workers at that time led me back to The Lord, she watched my health struggles and invited me to a church service, where my transformation to a better life begun. Her commitment to The Lord, her dedication and un-wavered love she had for the Lord, made her leave work and become a missionary for Christ. Today she, her husband and two daughters are all missionaries and travel the world. They gave up all their worldly possessions and just went out to win souls. May God be with them - always.
B. Matthew 8:3 is incredible! In this verse, we see that Jesus TOUCHED the man with Leprosy. Pretend for a moment that you are this man with Leprosy. What was it like the first time you discovered the leprosy on your skin. All of a sudden, all of the people you loved would not be near you. Your family would never hug or touch you again. If you fell to the ground, your friends would not help you up. You would have to move out of your home so others would not get leprosy. You would be alone. You couldn’t be near the people you loved. Imagine that years and years went by, and you forgot what it was like for another person to touch you. Now, read Matthew 8:3. Describe the emotions in a a few sentences about what you think the man felt when Jesus touched him and he was healed.
Answer: Before Jesus could touch him, he felt dirty, unloved, not needed nor wanted, a life of a loner. Once Jesus touched him, he became alive, he was cleansed and clean. He was loved and healed. He could look forward to a future, look forward to living instead of merely existing.
5. THE CHOSEN - 20 POINTS
Watch this episode of the Chosen.
Season 1 Episode 6
EPISODE LINK: https://watch.thechosen.tv/video/184683594339?language=en
What is one thing you liked or learned?
Answer: There was so much to learn and like in this episode. What stood out for me was Jesus' simple teachings, His humility, His unconditional love to the people, irrespective of who you are/were.
I liked the part where the Rabbi stopped Mary and practically begged her to arrange a meeting with Jesus, it seems as the Rabbi is showing an interest in Jesus' teachings and wants to know and learn more.
