Answer: Accomplished
5. BIBLE QUESTIONS (10 POINTS)
IMPORTANT: Make sure your answer is 3 sentences or more:
A. PRIVATE JOURNAL QUESTION: In Matthew 28:17, we see that some people doubted Jesus. Is there an aspect about God that you doubt at times? If you do struggle with doubt, PRIVATELY write down the doubts you struggle with. Make an effort to talk with people that know Jesus about this doubt and spend time searching for an answer. Doubts need to come to the light and not stay making circles in our mind for years. We need to identify them and ask God for help. Leave a comment if you privately accomplished this task.
Answer: Accomplished, although I do not doubt Jesus my savior in the least bit. Without Him I am nothing.
B. In Matthew 28:19, what is the last thing Jesus tells us to go and do in all the nations before He went to heaven? Why is it important for people to follow what Jesus said?
Answer: He told us to go out and make disciples of the people, meaning to teach others to know, love and follow Him. To go out into the world, not just where they live, but go out to different cultures, communities and speak of the word of God.
It is important to people to follow what He said because it makes sure the message of love, compassion, salvation reaches everyone. By transforming one person, you can end up transforming an entire community to follow God and a community can transform a nation. It just starts with one person.
6. TRAUMA INFORMED TEACHER (10 POINTS)
We have been learning different methods for helping a student struggling with PTSD triggers. So far we have learned:
Method #1: Relationship with Jesus
Method #2: Christ-centered Friendships
The next method you will be learning about is COUNSELING. We will be learning about the following 6 steps in counseling:
1. TEACHER EDUCATION.
2. BUILD RELATIONSHIP WITH STUDENT
3. IDENTIFY TRAUMA
4. HELP STUDENT VERBALIZE
5. CREATE A SAFE CLASSROOM
6. PATIENCE & THE LONG ROAD
How can a teacher be a counselor to students? List 2 different ways a teacher can be a counselor and help students with trauma.
Answer: A teacher can offer a safe environment that can nurture students. A teacher can be "available" for a student by giving the student their undivided attention when the student approaches or speaks to the teacher. Acknowledge a students' feelings, their frustration/problem/dilemma. To reiterate, be available and do not interrupt whilst the student is speaking, allow the student to speak to their hearts content and then only do you start asking any questions that need to be asked.
By showing the student that you understand, but not giving direct advice, but by letting the student know that you understand and care.
7. DEVOTIONAL (10 POINTS)
We are going to be spending time learning about 12 common sins that we battle in life. Satan uses these sins to bring bondage, pain, and destruction into our life and draw us away from a close relationship with Jesus. Here are 12 common sins:
1. Lust
2. Anxiety & Stress
3. Confusion and Worry
4. Grumpy
5. Anger
6. Fear
7. Depression
8. Jealousy
9. Laziness
10. Pride
11. Desire to Gossip
12. Self-pity and victim mentality. (Explain what this means)
Answer: Self pity: When you feel sorry for yourself and ask "why me", instead of finding a solution. You feel people dont like you, you are a failure and life in general is unfair.
Victim mentality: When a person makes it a habit to look at themselves as a target for bad luck, or others are conspiring against you to hurt you.
Why is it important to battle these sins?
Answer: We need to battel and overcome these sins as they are strongholds that try to keep us away from the glory of God. We get attacked more when we are climbing the spiritual ladder with The Lord. Be observant - not afraid. These are the oldest and only tricks that the enemy (Satan) has and can try and use against us. Sin is not of God. Allow the Holy Spirit to live within you and you will have a spirit of discernment implanted within you that only comes from the glory of serving God. God can not dwell where there is sin.
8. INCREDIBLE TEACHER (10 POINTS)
You have finished learning about the 4 elements of TPR. Watch this video of an incredible ESL teacher and answer the following questions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIk1-ck4c6Q&list=PLAVCV4yPW7KadH98ODobbgGYo9t2vw4vz

Answer: Such an exciting teacher and to he honest, he uses TPR throughout his entire lesson, but here is one example of each TPR:
Hand gestures: When he tries to open the bag and hits himself in the face.
Whole body movement: When they all jump together and run around the room.
Facial expressions: He continuously uses facial expressions throughout his entire lesson,
Props and Pictures: When he uses flashcards to ask questions to the learners and allows the learners to run and find colors.
9. THE CHOSEN (15 POINTS)
Watch this episode of the Chosen.
Season 2 Episode 4
EPISODE LINK: https://watch.thechosen.tv/video/184683594356?language=en___
What is one thing you liked or learned?
Answer: Very touching at the beginning when the little boy (Jessie) falls off a tree and is paralyzed for life. Then his mom dies in child birth and thankfully his younger brother (Simon) helps me to try and live a normal life, by including him in playing with friends and "being his legs" to and from places.
Also when Simon meets the Rabbi and so proudly introduces himself and the smirk on his face when he is ordered to travel to Jerusalem for the feast of tabernacles, but to assassinate Rufus.
When Simon goes to the well to meet Jessie, his bigger brother. Jessie gets angered when he realizes that Simon comes on pilgrimage every year and he has never come and seem him, but Simon is honest and says he was ashamed of Jessie.
But, the one part that really had me was when Jesus asked Jessie: "Do you want to get healed?", in-fact Jesus asked him twice. Then commanded him to stand up, pick up your mat and walk.
When Simon saw Jessie walking, he forgot about the assassination, but followed Jessie in awe.
Mathew then questioned and asked Jesus, why did He choose to perform this miracle now and not later. Now remember Simons words to Jessie at the well:?
"When you walk, then I know the Messiah has arrived", Jessie needed to stop that assassination.
